To maximize protection, fences should be high enough (at least 4 feet) to prevent deer from jumping over. They should also be securely installed to resist any attempts at pushing through. Mesh or woven wire fencing is the more popular option. Ultimately, while fencing may require a larger initial investment, it offers durable, year-round security.
